Our vision

The Grand Départ 2029 should be more than just a sporting kick-off. We combine history, movement and European perspectives.

The Tour de France starts at symbolic locations of German unity, an emotional and political signal for the 40th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.

Worldwide TV Impressions

When the Grand Départ comes to Germany in 2029, the region will transform into a stage for sports, culture, and encounters. Millions of visitors on-site will experience the event live, while the images are broadcast worldwide. This creates a unique community experience that is both locally rooted and globally visible.

An event of this size makes a lasting impression. From full hotels and restaurants to impetus for trade and infrastructure to new dynamics in regional development. The Grand Départ will generate enthusiasm and at the same time create added economic value that will strengthen the region in the long term and open up new opportunities for tourism and investment.

With the Tour de France, an entire region takes center stage in global attention. Billions of people follow the race on television and in the media. This makes Germany a flagship for sports, culture, and hospitality, demonstrating how four federal states can make history together.
